The Vigil of Reverence – Restoring Honor for God in Our Hearts and Nation
A vigil of reverence is a focused time of prayer devoted to restoring a right view of God—honoring Him in His holiness, authority, and truth. It calls believers to realign their hearts with who God is, recognizing Him not only as Savior, but as Lord.
In every generation, there is a need to remember the greatness of God. Reverence begins when we humble ourselves before Him, placing Him in His rightful position above all else. When reverence is restored, wisdom follows, and lives begin to reflect His truth once again.

Returning to Reverence
- Pray for a renewed fear of the Lord — Ask God to restore a deep awe, honor, and respect for His holiness across the nation
- Seek humility before God — Pray that hearts would turn away from pride and return to dependence on Him
- Lift up homes and families — Ask that reverence for God would be practiced, taught, and lived out daily
- Intercede for churches and leaders — Pray that God would be honored fully in worship, teaching, and leadership
- Ask for truth to be restored — Pray that what is right and true in God’s eyes would be embraced again
- Invite God to be first again — Commit your own heart, and the heart of the nation, to place Him above all else
Bring Others With You
Reverence grows when it is shared and modeled. Encourage someone to reflect on who God is today. His holiness, His power, and His faithfulness. Invite them to join you in honoring Him in prayer and daily life.
